 FRIDAY, AUGUST 25TH – ACADEMIC DAY Your first day of class is rapidly approaching! We want you to start your first semester off right. Academic Day programming is required for all new students and highlights important tools and resources as you start your academic career at Ship. Meet your First-Year Experience (FYE) Peer Anchor and engage in small activities to get to know other students in your UNIV 101 class. Transfer students can meet fellow transfers and get tips on getting ready for the first day of classes. Additionally, you will meet with leadership from your academic college and faculty from your department who will guide you toward degree completion. After Academic Day, get some rest because you will not want to miss what we have planned for you. Join Big Red for our New Student Cookout and your new shipmates at Let’s Glow Crazy! The Corn Festival is a Shippensburg tradition, taking place on the last Saturday in August on King Street. The event draws hundreds of vendors and thousands of visitors annually! Students can discover the student-friendly and beautiful downtown while enjoying this “corny” tradition. Buses will leave every 20 minutes to take groups downtown.
