    1:15 PM - 1:55 PM –FIRST-YEAR & TRANSFER BREAKOUT SESSIONS

    INTRO TO FIRST-YEAR EXPERIENCE/UNIV 101 – Join your new Shipmates and your Student Ambassadors for a small group discussion about the transition to Ship, the importance of making connections, and how you can utilize our campus resources. Additionally, you will learn about your UNIV 101 course, Ship traditions, and what is next for you this fall.

    TRANSITIONING TO SHIP – Join other transfer students and your Student Ambassadors for a small group discussion about the transition to Ship, the importance of making connections, and how you can utilize our campus resources. Additionally, you will learn about our Ship traditions and what is next for you this fall.

    1:55 PM-2:20 PM - SHIP CONNECTION
    Students will learn how to navigate technology typically used by Ship Students.

    2:20 PM – 2:35 PMNEXT STEPS
    Join us for this brief session, which includes information about getting your ID and Parking Pass, the Spring Welcome Weekend schedule, and the first-of-class activities.

    ACADEMIC SESSION
    Students will receive information on items they need to know to start their academic course this spring.

    Zoom System Requirements

    • An internet connection – broadband wired or wireless (3G or 4G/LTE). Minimum bandwidth is 600kbps (up/down) and recommended is 1.5 Mbps (up/down). Check your Internet bandwidth using Speedtest
    • A microphone – built-in to your computer or USB plug-in or wireless Bluetooth.
    • Built-in headset jack from laptop or desktop. Even if your laptop or desktop has speakers, you must plug in a headset so that the sound from the speakers does not cause an echo in the Zoom meeting. Any headset with a 3.5mm plug will plug in.
    • If joining from a mobile device, you must have the Zoom app download prior to the meeting.
    • Here is some support material including a getting started guide, links to videos, and links out to Zoom's support pages. 

    SPRING WELCOME WEEKEND

    WELCOME TO SHIP! We have a great weekend planned for you to engage with your classmates and adjust to life on campus. Participating in these activities is a great way to meet new Shipmates and have fun before the semester starts.

    9:00 AM - 3:00 PM - NEW STUDENT MOVE-IN.Various Locations.
    Students living on campus can move into their assigned resident hall.

    AFTER MOVE-IN CHECKLIST
    When you arrive on campus, here are some steps you must complete after moving in.

    9:00 AM – 5:00 PM – One-Stop-Shop, Mowery Hall.
    Need help with schedule adjustments, advising, clearing your billing, and financial aid processes? Visit the One Stop Shop during the first week of the semester. Staff and faculty will be there to assist you and answer all your questions.

    Need to complete your English or Reading Survey? Need to take your Mathematics Placement Test? See us to take the assessments or schedule a time to do so.

    10:00 AM – 1:00 PM - PICK UP YOUR MAILBOX KEY (ON-CAMPUS STUDENT ONLY)
    , UPS Store.
    After checking in, visit the UPS Store toward the rear of the CUB and pick up your mailbox key.

    10:00 AM – 11:00 PM - ID PHOTOS, CUB Ground Floor
    Get your ID picture taken and receive your ID.

    10:00 AM – 1:00 PM - FINANCIAL AID & STUDENT ACCOUNTS, Reisner Dining Hall
    The Financial Aid Office and Student Accounts Office will be available to answer your questions about individual forms, loan processing, deadlines, and financial/billing issues.

    4:00 PMWELCOME TO SHIP! CUB MPR B/C (required for all new students living on campus)
    This is your official welcome and start to your career as a Shippensburg University Raider! Students are divided into small groups led by Student Ambassadors to connect with members of their class.
    5:00 PM - 5:45 PM - DINNER WITH THE STUDENT AMBASSADORS. Reisner Dining Hall (required for all new students living on campus)
    Join your Student Ambassador and new classmates for your first dinner together. Bring your SU ID to swipe into the dining hall.
    7:00 PMMEN’S WRESTLING VS GANNON UNIVERSITY. Heiges Field House
    Join your fellow Raiders as we cheer on our Wrestling team. Ship students enter for FREE with a SU ID.
    9:00 PM- 11:00 PM - Winter BINGO. CUB MPR
    Come hang out and play bingo to win some great prizes.
