Learning Objectives

Upon completing the sessions, participants should be able to: 

• Research the positions and organizations to which they apply 
• Prepare answers for commonly asked questions 
• Present themselves effectively on camera in terms of background, lighting, volume, and appearance. 
• Respond appropriately to an interviewer. 
• Communicate with an appearance of confidence. 
• Use online technologies appropriately for interviewing. 
• Adapt in case of technology failures. 

Program Details

• March 5: 6 PM - 7 PM
• March 6: 11 AM - 12 PM and 1 PM - 2 PM
• March 7: Individual 30 minute sessions with instructors from 12 PM to 5 PM

Dr. Amy May, Professor, Human Communication Studies at Shippensburg University. She has a passion for helping lifelong learners develop their communication skills to achieve their personal, professional, and academic goals.


Dr. Misty L. Knight is an Associate Professor of Human Communication Studies at Shippensburg University. She earned her Ph.D. in Speech Communication from The University of Southern Mississippi after defending her dissertation, Private to Public Life: Rhetoric of First Ladies in the First Year. Her primary research interests involve political rhetoric, self-defense rhetoric, communication and mental health, and humor in communication. She teaches general Human Communication courses as well as classes like Communication for Training and Instruction, Interpersonal Communication, Public Speaking, and Political Rhetoric.
